Andy had the second week in September off, so we decided to take a little family trip. We packed up the car and went on a road trip. Our first stop was Nauvoo. It took us about 6 1/2 hours to get there. That was with a few potty stops for Isaac. When we got their it was dinner time, and we were all starving. I had forgotten that Nauvoo is a very little town. This town does not even have a McDonald's or any of your fast food chains. So it was a trick trying to find something to eat. We finally found a little old hotel that had a buffet. So we had dinner with all the old folk in the town. The next day we went and toured all the neat houses in Old Nauvoo. Isaac had a lot of fun learning how bricks, shoes, and bread were all made in Old Nauvoo. We then went to see the temple. The temple is amazing. It totally stands out in this little town. The next day we left the little town of Nauvoo and drove to the big city of Chicago. Wow, what a change. Going from small town life to busy busy city life. Chicago was so neat. We took the kids to Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Navy Pier. And for me, we had to go to the Magnificent Mile and see all of the fun shopping. We really loved Chicago, and we already have plans to go back. After we got home we took Isaac to the circus. It wasn't the best circus I have ever seen, but Isaac loved it. He has since been playing circus, he likes to be the great Hercules who is really really strong. I have to remind him what Hercules told all the audience, "don't try this at home!!" So we had a very busy week. I think we might have packed too much into one week, because we were all exhausted. The next week Andy has off I think we will take it a little more easy.
