Livin' On the Edge - Tuesday Tell All

The topic this week is:
If you could do something just once with no risk what would it be?

1. Ride the Top Thrill Dragster (video up above)

at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH

When Top Thrill Dragster opened, it set five new records:
-First continuous-circuit roller coaster to top 400 feet

-First roller coaster to reach 120 mph

-Highest drop of
any coaster
-Fastest roller coaster in the world

-Tallest roller Coaster in the world

I have been to Cedar Point two times.

Both times I chickened out and did not ride the Dragster.

This ride is so tall that when it is windy you can see it slightly moving back and forth. I have also seen the ride go to the top but not make it over the curve at the top. So they sit at the top for a few seconds, then go backwards back to the beginning of the ride. That just really freaks me out.

I have been on all the other rides at Cedar Point, thanks to Tim and Melissa I did this ride:

The Millennium Force.

I almost chickened out on this ride, but they made sure that I did it. I am so glad that I did, it was so fun!!

Ever since I have had kids, I feel like I have been less of a risk taker.
I am way more cautious now then I have been ever before.
I feel like I am Livin' on the edge every day, trying to raise two very active little boys.
Everyday is a new adventure at the Olsen's.

I love Cedar Point! And I must say Jess, if you can ride Millennium Force you'd do just great on the Dragster. Having done both; Dragster is so fast it's over with before you can think about it and Millennium scares the poop out of me every time I've ridden (sp?) it.

You are bringing back fond memories of my throwing up later that night from getting sick on rides.. he he

I did manage to do the top thrill last year after graduation, and although scary, I have to agree with Kel since it is over so fast. You really have no time to be scared and then it is over.

Next time you go, try out The Maverick; a new ride that opened last summer. That will knock your socks off! Loved it!

It is such a fun roller coaster. I have to agree with everyone that if you can ride the Milennium Force you can ride the Top Thrill Dragster.

I haven't been to Cedar Point since they've added these two scarey roller coasters. However, in high school I rode the Magnum (which at the time was the tallest but is quite small in comparison) and I screamed like a little girl. Not sure I could handle the newer ones.

I don't know why you wouldn't want to ride it after watching that video it sure looked like the girls on the ride were having the time of their life NOT!! I totally agree that after having kids your life and perspective are totally different.

Jess, I rode the Ghostrider at Knots Berry Farm in CA and I actually thought I was going to die and leave my son without a mother. I have never experienced that before, and now I just stick to the Disney variety of rollercoasters.

I was so bummed last time I went to Cedar Point I was prego so I couldn't ride the Dragster. I have been on it before and it is alot of fun, but I absolutely love roller coasters and the thrill! You'll have to go on it for sure if you ever get the chance!

The dragster is great. The only problem is that your stomach stays at the beginning of the ride. The good thing is that you get back quick enough that you hardly notice it missing...
