It was the party of the. . . year!

Every year Andy's fellow Radiology Residents throw a party to welcome in the new interns.
This year Andy and I were roped into HOSTING it!

We were planning on throwing the party in the outside pavilion behind our house. But when we woke up Saturday morning, it was pouring rain. So in a panic we deep cleaned the whole house, and tried to figure out where would 30+ people sit in our little house?
Luckily, the rain stopped in time for the party. But it was so humid, that we all felt like we were wet.

Here are a couple pictures of the event:
(I wanted to take more, but felt kind of silly just taking the few I did. . .I don't know Andy's co-workers all the well yet.)

Oh Ya, I almost forgot!
I had to make about 80% of all the food too!
However, Costco did help me out a ton.
All week I have been trying to decide what to make for 20+ adults and about 10+ kids.
This is what I decide on:
Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwiches
Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
BBQ Baked Beans
Salad
Fruit
Hot Dogs(for the kids)
Costco cake
Costco Brownies
(a vegie tray, chips and dip, and drinks were brought by others)

Everything turned out really good! And we all had a ton of fun!

I have posted a couple of the recipes that I used at the party, HERE.

Ok, so I have to share this picture of Seth and his friend Riley,
who joined us for dinner at the party.
They were so cute together, in this picture they were feeding each other cake!
So cute!!

That would have been so hard for me to deal with. I have a hard time planning parties and having people over. Looks like you did an awesome job.

You get the "hostess with the mostess" award. I am sure it was a huge hit.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe they had you host it. It is just the other residents and their families? We've had a chiefs party and an intern party for all residents, their families, along with the department people and whatever attendings want to come. Jeff and his class were in charge of the intern party as far as getting things set up and food wise the main dishes and drinks(residents bring sides). That was hard enough, especially since Jeff was on call for the party, and it is hosted by either the ortho chair or the next guy on the totem pole. You cease to amaze me!
