Summer Blockbusters

Tuesday Tell All for this week is :
What is your favorite movie of the summer, so far.

Andy and I rarely go and see a newly released movie at the Theater.
It is not because we don't like to, it is more that we can't afford to do it all that often.

So we rent movie's through Netflix.
These are a few of my favorite movies that I have watched this summer:

Kite Runner
After spending years in California, Amir returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend Hassan, whose son is in trouble.
I saw this great movie at my parents house in Utah.
I have to admit, I was not real excited about it. Any movie depicting war or violence really turns me away. But my mom really wanted to watch it, so I did. The beginning of the movie starts with sub-titles, and seemed really boring to me at the time. But as the movie went on. . . I was hooked. Now I can say that this movie was one of the best movies I have seen all summer. I loved it!! Now I want to read the book :-) So thanks mom, for pushing me into watching Kite Runner. I totally recommend it to anyone.

Dan In Real Life
Dan Burns is a single father who dedicates his life to his children, but one day he meets Marie at a bookstore. They get to know each other, but then Dan finds out that Marie is actually dating his brother, Mitch Burns.
I really enjoyed watching this movie it was funny, sad, and romantic.
I remembered this movie when it came out, but never really had the desire to see it. Until a friend recommended it to me. I watched it one night alone while I was folding the laundry. It really surprised me how much I really enjoyed watching it. I would also recommend this movie.

The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn
A 91 year old carpenter (Sidney Poitier), who is still in completely good health, has to fight developers who are trying to force him to sell his land.
The Plot sounds boring uh? Well, at least that is what I thought when I read it. I decided to try it out anyways. I loved it!! It is not an action or fast going movie, but is a real motivational feel-good movie. I am also not a big fan of Sidney Poitier, I think just because Oprah loves him, and Oprah drives me crazy. Anyways, this really was one of my favorite movies of the summer.

So there you have it, a few of my favorite movies of the summer 2008.

So now I want to know, what are some of your favorite movies either of the summer or of all time. :-) I always love to get suggestions for a great movie!

We loved Enchanted. Can't think of any other ones right now but it is a family friendly movie :)

I really want to see Kite Runner. We got it once and then never watched it and had to return it.

My suggestions may not be some you would like if you don't like subtitles, war, or that kind of material. Those are some of my favorite movies. I am sure you saw my sidebar with the movies I have seen the last few months if you want more suggestions. My favorite Lars and the Real Girl.

hmm, i'll have to see the kite runner. I've heard the book is good, i plan to read it eventually....my list of books to read is too long! And I also liked Dan in Real Life.
We also love Enchanted, i'm guessing you don't get too much of a chance to watch girl movies around there! I also saw P.S. I Love You recently and it was pretty cute. oh, and also a movie that is really good is Stardust. ok, i'm done now.:)

Jess, I really liked Kite Runner as well. If you like the movie, you'll love the book even more. We went to Journey to the Center of the Earth, in 3-D, and it was pretty good. I also liked the Dark Knight, but that's all I've seen this summer.

Jared and I watched Dan in Real Life a few months ago and really like it. I wouldn't mind having the soundtrack either!
