I love living in Michigan this time of the year.
Fruit picking season is here!
Last Monday I took the boys to a really fun Strawberry picking Farm called,
Krupps Family Farm located in Comstock, MI.
Before we left for the farm, I read one of my all time favorite children's books to the boys. When I was a little girl I would ask my mom to read this book over and over. . .until I could recite it. The is called,
'The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear' by Don Wood

We were lucky to go with a few of our friends to the strawberry Farm.
The farmer took us on a tracker pulled hey ride to where the Strawberry picking rows were.

Seth Filled up his basket really good
For every strawberry he picked,
he ate a strawberry. . . and you can tell right on his face!
Isaac got really into it this year!
He had to pick the Biggest and the Best Strawberries.
He did a great job.
After we picked, we took a break and ate some Ice Cream.
There is something so very relaxing about being out in the country enjoying the outdoors. . .I loved it!
Now that I have many bags of strawberries here is what I plan to do with them:
-Make strawberry Jam
-Fresh Homemade Strawberry cup-cakes (I will post on my food blog when I make them)
-Freeze many of them for smoothies
-keeping the rest for snacking on and putting in oatmeal and cereal

I love that book, and now that you mentioned it, I have to go buy it!
All I can say is yummy. We actually just checked that book out from the library a few weeks ago. It was a top toddler pick book for the summer. Very cute!
Yeah, I'm bummed. We missed strawberry picking season in Ohio. Glad ya'll had fun though.
