we have a dyson, it's awesome but it cost a pretty penny. Too bad you guys don't live closer we could let you borrow it for a long time since we have a central vac now.

We have a Eureka SmartVac it was a consumer report best buy. It has been great. It doesn't cost near as much as a dyson and works well. Although, I would love a dyson.
I have the same vac as Bethany. The Eureka Smart Vac. Gotta love consumer report and the vaccum works well.
I would love a dyson because I hear they are awesome, but I also just heard that if you use one then your carpet warrenty can be void. I guess the dysons have such a strong suck that they can pull your carpet from the floor. So I would check if you even have a warrenty on your carpet since your house is new before you even look into a dyson, if that is what you are thinking of buying.
We have an Oreck and I LOVE IT! When we bought it you could take in your old vacuum and get $100 off the new vacuum. They are very comparable to the dyson. I compared the 2, and found the oreck suited me better. The things I love about it are: It only weighs 8 pounds and the attachments to do stairs, etc comes in a seperate unit called a canister so doesn't make it very heavy. They also sell air freshner tablets that you put in the back. Our vacuum also self propels itself so not heavy to push. It can suck up a 16 pound bowling ball and you can even test it in the store. Depending on the model, you can get a 10 yr or 21 yr warranty and you take it in yearly and they do service maintenance on it for free and change the bag. I figured it cost a lot, but how many vacuums would you buy in that time period? (they would eventually add up). I seriously love my vacuum!
